The areas with the highest live coral cover are found on the Islas
Contreras, the Islas Jicarón and Jicarita in the South, and the Eastern part of the Islas Canal de
Afuera. In the coral communities, the areas with greater coverage of live coral also contain higher diversity of hard corals.
