The Golf of Montijo Wetland Reserve is located in Panama. The Ramsar Convention included this area on their List of Wetlands of International Importance. This means that this area is internationally recognized for its importance to many species of water birds that visit the area during migration, as well as a nesting site. In addition to birdlife, species such as otters, spider monkeys and cayman can be found here.
