Panama water has dozens of marine mammal species, including spotted and bottlenose dolphins, commonly escort small craft on any offshore excursion.
During the months of July to November, it is very common to see in the distance, a spray of water explodes from the ocean’s surface. Normally, it is the first sign that we are close to some of the most fascinating creatures in this world.
When we do fishing or snorkeling tours, we will most likely see the smallest cetaceans, but if you want to see the giants of the sea, it is better to wait until they arrive to visit us from the month of July, where they look for our warm tropical waters, which serve as a refugee to mate and give birth.
Cetaceans can be observed along the entire Panama Pacific coast, however, the favorite places to develop the activity are the Bay of Panamá (Las Perlas), Pedasí, Gulf of Montijo, Cébaco, Coiba National Park, and Gulf of Chiriquí.
