The San Pedro and San Pablo rivers, both located in the Province of Veraguas, unite their waters to create one of the most complete ecosystems of Panama: the Gulf of Montijo Wetlands.
Both rivers flow in this area, creating along with numerous tributaries, a series of channels and coastal lands that constitute a habitat for numerous marine species of importance for the fishing, an essential activity for the people of the Gulf of Montijo.
These lands, covering 140 hectares of marshes, marine areas, secondary forests and grasslands, also provide vital nesting areas for species of seabirds and migratory birds.
Visit these wetlands that have been declared RAMSAR SITE and enjoy a different and exotic landscape.
